In memory of

Tom Tho Chung

September 19, 1932 -  July 19, 2025

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Tom Tho Chung, who left this world on July 19, 2025, at the age of 92 in the comfort of his Toronto home.

Born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (formerly Saigon), Tom built a life rooted in compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion. A beloved husband, a nurturing father, and a proud grandfather, Tom’s presence brought light and kindness into the lives of everyone who knew him.

He was best known for his boundless generosity, quiet strength, and the heartfelt care he extended not only to his family, but to friends and strangers alike. A deeply loyal and loving partner, Tom shared over 70 remarkable years of marriage with his cherished wife, Mae — a bond that was the cornerstone of his life and a testament to enduring love.
Tom is survived by Mae, his two sons and six daughters; and his seventeen adored grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of warmth, humility, and unconditional love.

A Funeral Service and Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Elgin Mills Cemetery (1591 Elgin Mills Rd E, Richmond Hill, ON, L4S 1M9).

Tom’s life was one of grace, kindness, and quiet joy — a life that touched many and will be forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Carefirst Ontario. Tom held deep gratitude for the support Carefirst provided to both him and Mae during their later years.

To make a memorial donation, please click on the Donations tab on the top right corner of the page. When donating, please select “In Memory Of” and enter Tom Tho Chung’s name — this will ensure the donation is recognized as a tribute in his honor.

Dear Lorna,

I shall never forget your dad's warm smile & heart. As I told him, he was handsome inside and out.

" I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death.  They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make.  Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.  We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. "
