In memory of

Toby Trost

December 24, 1926 -  November 22, 2022

Toby loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart and did his best to worship and serve him faithfully.
He was born December 24, 1926, a Christmas Eve baby, in Bavaria, Germany. He came to Canada when he was 2, settling in Saskatchewan to farm life with his parents and eventually 8 siblings in all.
Toby was 95 when he passed and is survived by his children Deborah, Ruth, Chris and Esther and his grandchildren Kelvin, Jessica and Kayla. All of his brothers and sisters have since passed.
He worked as a miner in Sudbury until retirement and then moved to Mississauga to live out the rest of his days.

I remember:

One day my Dad was feeling sad, and I sat upon his knee.
I sang a Christian song to him to fill his heart with glee.

For only songs of Jesus would send tranquil peace his way,
And fill his heart with happiness to take the pain away.

I remember reading bible stories about the Lord above.
I remember all the church revivals and the messages of His love.

He may not have been the perfect father – he really tried his best,
He wanted us to love the Lord – we put him to the test.

No matter how you remember him – whether it’s good or bad,
He is singing with the Angles now – and is no longer sad.

In loving memory of Toby Trost – aka my Dad.
_______
God’s Garden

God looked around his garden- And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth- And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you -And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering -He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never – Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough – And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids – And whispered, ‘Peace be thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you – But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you – The day God called you home.

I found a song written by my fathers hand today and thought I would share it.
My Jesus I love thee, I know thou art mine.
For all of the follies of sin I resign
My gracious Redeemer, My Savior art thou
If ever I loved Thee my Jesus, tis now.
