In memory of

Tim Jan Hogenbirk

August 2, 1948 -  May 14, 2018

It is with profound sadness that the Hogenbirk family wishes to inform you of the unexpected passing of our beloved Tim on May 14, 2018. At the age of 69, he left us far too soon. He was a loving husband, partner and best friend to Eveline (Groothoff) and wonderful father to Annelieke, Nienke and her husband Brent. He adored his granddaughters Sarah and Emma and was the best Opa to them in every way.

In 1982, Tim and his young family immigrated from The Netherlands to Canada. He remained very involved in the Dutch Canadian community and he leaves behind many friends from the Netherlands Luncheon Club, and the Brampton Rotary Club. He will be sadly missed by his cousins, nieces, brother-in-law and sister-in-law who reside in The Netherlands. Tim loved travelling and exploring the world with his wife of 47 years, tending to his garden, and spending time with his family. There were many plans for further travels because after each trip, he was ready to leave again. Tim was kind and generous with his time and he was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He was a life-long blood donor and since this cause was dear to his heart, please consider a donation to Canadian Blood Services in lieu of flowers.

I was so very sad to hear the news of Tim's passing. It's shocking. He was always so nice to me. Always happy to see me. A special memory I have with him is when he presented me the NLC Community Service award 3 years ago for organizing the Dutch Liberation Festival and Parade at City Hall. He will be sadly missed.

It is with much sadness to accept the sudden passing of Tim. We spent a lot of time together over the years. His passing will leave a legacy of goodwill, friendship, deep passion for helping out and participating in many non-profit organizations such as CNBPA , Luncheon club, and the Brampton Rotary club. He will be missed by us but also by many whose lives he touched.
May God give strengths to Evelyn and the family, friends, and business associates.

Rust zacht, oom Tim! Zo ver weg, maar mede dankzij facebook de laatste jaren ook weer zo dichtbij. Tante Eveline, Annelieke, Nienke, Brent, Sarah en Emma, so sorry for your loss!
