In memory of

Tillit Calder-Harris

August 30, 1943 -  August 7, 2025

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tillit “Rose” Theodore Calder-Harris, who left this world peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Oshawa, Ontario, at the age of 81.

Rose was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother and cherished sister, aunt and friend. She was pre-deceased by her parents Thaddeus and Rosetta and her siblings Derek, Roy, Naomi and Islet.

Rose will be sadly missed by her children Naleen, Judy, Erica (Andy), and Lorraine, her grandchildren (in order of birth) Neville (Fabia), Nevar, Charity, Nevaun, Lanisha, Faith, Nevaul, Darrius, and Jacob, great-granddaughter Zaniya and her siblings Valda, Minnes, Delores, and Vivian, along with extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

God took her home on Thursday, August 7th after a daunting struggle which saw her decline rapidly. She will be sorely missed by the many who she influenced and loved ones for which she cared.

Rose found joy in playing music, dancing, telling jokes, tennis, reading her bible, listening to her favourite preachers and watching game shows and classic movies. She had an incredible personality that was infectious, her laughter filled any room and she would speak to any one whether she knew them or not. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her loved ones either on the phone or in person.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering, Ontario. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Duffin Meadows Cemetery, 2505 Brock Road North, Pickering, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Rose’s life was a melody that will play on in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest peacefully, Rose—you were deeply loved, and your song will never fade.

We're requesting in person attendees to dress in bright colours to honour our mother's wishes.
