Tom was very proud of his roots in Newfoundland, where he was born in Juniper Stump and grew up in Stephenville. He was passionate about cars and trucks and became as a mechanic, at one point owning his own service station in Brampton, Ontario. He capped off his extensive career working on large construction equipment in Oakville and Burlington, Ontario.
Tom was a huge baseball fan, and had a long-standing love-hate relationship with the Toronto Blue Jays. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting.
Tom's family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Post Inn Village in Oakville, as well as the residents who became friends and welcomed Tom into their lives.
