I remember Lornie for many things. As a young boy, I thought he was the Hogan version of JFK. Young, good looking, and very smart.
My dad, Cec Hogan, liked to brag about his brother and how he put himself through college to become an accountant and that Lornie was the guy in the corner office at IBM.
When dad got older, I thought it was so kind of Lornie to do his income tax and for Doreen to serve him supper.
But met fondest memory was on our wedding day in 1979. It's the end of the night and we're saying goodbye to the guests. It's getting a little emotional and then Lornie slips me a $20 bill. "Here ya go Danny, this is for breakfast tomorrow." It brought an instant smile to me face and the next day we went to a small French restaurant where we had breakfast.. Most of my memories of that day have gotten a bit blurry but not that one. Funny how some things that seem small and insignificant at the time are the ones you neger forget.
