McGahern, Thomas Joseph (Joe)— of Mississauga, Ontario, passed away on January 17, 2017 peacefully in his sleep at Credit Valley Hospital.

Joe was born in Srah, County Mayo, Ireland on October 19, 1932. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School, Westport, Ireland and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Oxford, UK.

Joe enjoyed sports, especially golf, as well as reading, movies and spending time with his family and friends.

He will be forever loved and missed by wife Alina of 32 years, his two children Julie DiPassa and husband Dominic, John McGahern and wife Anita; his two stepchildren Roman Laufer and wife Gayella, Andrew Laufer and wife Christina; his 9 grandchildren Patrick, Christopher, Olivia, Christina, Anna-Marie, Brady, Brooklyn, Farrah, Christian; his brother John McGahern; his 3 sisters Margaret Bartley, Bernadette McGahern, Rosaleen McGahern; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Jack McGahern and Nora McGahern; as well as his sister, Theresa Butler.
