Cecilia Nguyen Thi Dong (Sam)
February 1,1936 to March 28,2022

We announce our beloved mother’s passing on March 28, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, two older brothers and sisters in heaven.

She lived a full, vibrant life of 86 years and spent her life caring and supporting her immediate and extended family.

She was born and raised in Ha Noi, Vietnam and lived in Saigon with her family from 1954 until 1980. After ensuring the rest of the family had safely escaped Vietnam, she and her youngest son also left as Boat People. Their long journey brought them to Toronto in 1981 where she joined her brother and sister's family. She was reunited with all six of her children in 1982.

She was an active volunteer in the Vietnamese community and participated in Tai chi and Sống Vui Sống Khỏe Senior Group.

We are forever grateful for all that our mother has done for us, the time we spent with her, and the sacrifices she made for us. We will live on through her strength and will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her sister Ngo, her brother Ky, two daughters Giao, Hao, four sons Thang, Quang , Huy, Hien and fourteen grandchildren.
