Theodoros (Ted) Ioannou

January 19, 1930 - February 2, 2021

Theodoros Ioannou passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021 at Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care. He was born on January 19, 1930 in the small village of Messonissi, Greece, where he was raised until he served the Greek army then married his wife Anastasia. They welcomed the birth of their newborn son Chris, and then immigrated to Toronto, Canada shortly after to start a new life as Canadians. They next welcomed the birth of their daughter Christine. Theodoros was a dedicated and loving family man who will be greatly missed by: His wife Anastasia, son Chris (Sylvia),daughter Christine (Paul), grandchildren Angela, Theodore (Elizabeth), Mark (Emerald), Peter (Danijela), Thomas, and great grandchild Niko.

Thanks Dad for all your love and support over the years and all of the life lessons you taught us.
If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, we would walk right up to heaven to bring you down again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. Our hearts still ache in sadness. What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know. When we are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong, we seem to hear you whisper "Cheer up and carry on." Each time we look at your pictures, you seem to smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm only sleeping." We'll meet again someday Dad.

Detho, We will always cherish the great memories we shared with you. Your passing has left a hole in our hearts.

We were blessed to have you in our lives and feel so thankful that Niko had an opportunity to know you and spend time with you. You were a true family man, and we always felt your love. Thank you for always being there for us, as Theo and I started our lives together, and then welcomed Niko into the family. You were such a proud Grandfather and an even prouder Great-Grandfather, who shared such a special bond with Niko.

We all love you very much and will miss you dearly! We will try to make you proud, as we continue on our lifes journey. And we will continue to try to pass on the positive values you instilled in us over the years, to Niko; to value our family, to help each other, and to take care of one another.

We will always love you and miss you so very much. You were so very special to us and we are holding on tightly to all the wonderful memories. Big hugs and kisses, we love you Detho!

Detho thank you for all the memories we shared together. I always looked forward to seeing you, you will be missed. Thank you for the love and support you provided throughout the years since I was a kid growing up until now. Your teachings and lessons will be remembered forever. Love, Thomas.
