In Loving Memory of Hung The Nguyen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Hưng Thế Nguyễn.

Hung passed away peacefully in Toronto on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with his family by his side at the age of 71, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Tuy for 35 years. Loving father of David and Henry.

Hung was born in Hanoi, Vietnam on April 8, 1954. At the start of the Vietnam War, his family fled North Vietnam towards South Vietnam where he grew up. He later studied medicine at the University of Saigon and worked at Cho Ray Hospital. Science and medicine was his passion. He applied that passion across many other aspects of his life with compassion and humility. Years after the war, he came to Canada where he met his wife and lived in Toronto, Ontario for the rest of his life.

A heartfelt special thank you to Dr. Marta Davidson, the staff on units 14A, 15A, Malignant Hematology Day Unit (Blue Pod), and Blood Lab nurses at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for their kind, compassionate care.
