In Loving Memory of Thavamany (Malar) Krishnamoorthy
February 27, 1933 – June 5, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thavamany (Malar) Krishnamoorthy, who was called to be with the Lord on June 5, 2025, at the age of 92. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed peacefully into eternal rest, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, faith, and kindness.
Malar was born on February 27, 1933, in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Krishnamoorthy. From her early years, she was a source of light and joy to those around her. Throughout her life, Malar lived with deep compassion and a deep commitment to her faith in Christ. In her later years, she relocated to Pickering, Ontario, where she was embraced by her close-knit family and friends.
A devoted Christian, Malar’s faith was the foundation of her life. She spent her days serving others, with a heart full of love, kindness and generosity. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she often spoke of the joy of knowing her Father in heaven and the hope of reuniting with loved ones in the eternal kingdom.
She leaves behind her beloved children Christopher, Devika, Usha, Verni, Kirija, Jonathan, Jerome and Vijitha and dear sons-in-law and daughters-in-law Hedda, the late Varatharajah, Paul, Rohan, Rajeevan, Sarah, Kisho and Kesavan. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Vanessa, Alex, Grace, Bethany, Rachel, Jennifer, Caleb, Isabella, Anna, Emmett, Jason, Anna Ruth, Eshani, Keith, Judah, Arielle, Shawn, Shannon, Josiah, Micah, Abigail, Emily and her great-grandsons Keeshaun and Jayvan. She is now reunited with her father in heaven, where she is embraced in the arms of the Lord she so faithfully followed.
Malar’s life was a testament to her love for God and her unwavering belief in His grace. She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her warm smile, and the faith that guided her every step. Her legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion to Christ will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Psalms 28:7

Over the years, I have heard so many wonderful stories about the faith that Mrs. Thavamany Krishnamoorthy had and how she raised her kids and was the spiritual backbone of her family after her husband past. Countless people have been touched and blessed by her faith and I believe there is a huge party in heaven to welcome home one of God’s favorite daughters. Looking forward to our reunion in heaven. Blessings, Vivienne

A Tribute to a Faith-Filled Mother

This morning, heaven gained a gentle giant of faith. At 92 years young, this dearly beloved Mom closed her eyes on this world and opened them in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Like the apostle Paul, she could truly say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

God’s Word promises, “With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:16), and He fulfilled that promise beautifully in her life. Ninety-two full and fruitful years—each one a testimony to God’s sustaining grace and the blessing that rests on the righteous.

One of the most moving parts of her story is how the Lord granted her heart’s desire: all eight of her children, though living across different continents, were gathered by her side when she left this world. What a rare and holy moment—that the voices she heard before she breathed her last was of those she loved most. Only God could orchestrate such a tender and powerful gift.

Through my friendship with her beloved daughter Usha Sklena, I came to know this precious mother. It was my joy and privilege to stand with Usha in prayer along with others in her prayer group often daily—believing for strength, peace, and comfort in those final days. Together we lifted her before the throne of grace, and I count it a true honor to have witnessed such a powerful testimony of the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Her life embodied the truth of James 5:16—“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person availeth much.” Her prayers, and the prayers offered on her behalf, have borne much fruit—and her legacy of faith will continue to ripple across generations.

She leaves behind more than memories—she leaves a legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength. A woman who walked closely with her Savior, who loved deeply, and who remained anchored in hope until the very end. Her family rises up and calls her blessed—and I join them in giving thanks for a life so well lived.

To Usha and the entire family —Your mother’s life has deeply touched my own. Heaven has welcomed a faithful servant home, and we here on earth stand in awe of the grace she carried.

With love
💕Sharmaline
