In loving memory of Terrance (Terry) Edwards
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Edwards peacefully on Friday, December 13th at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Son of the late George and Margaret Edwards (nee Cooper). Beloved son-in-law to Pearl Johnson and brother of the late Larry and the late Leslie Edwards. Devoted husband to Sandra (nee Guegueirre). Loving father to Chris and Nicole (Ryan) and proud grandfather to Flynn and Sawyer (Murphy).
Terry and Sandra wed in 1967. Their 57 years of marriage was filled with love, laughter, exciting family road trips and countless memories of good times spent with their long-time friends and their immediate and extended family. Terry was a devoted father who worked hard to provide for his family. However, Terry’s favourite role was that of Poppa to his grandsons, affectionately referred to as ‘the boys”. Terry’s dedication to his family was the cornerstone of his life.
Terry was a man of few words, but when he spoke he had something important to share. Terry was known for his dry (and sometimes off-colour) sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh with a well-thought out one-liner.
Terry will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by many, but none more than his family who lost him too soon. Funeral services will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre on Saturday, January 4, 2025. A visitation will be held at 10am. Funeral services will begin at 11am followed by a reception at the same location. As per Terry’s wishes, donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
