Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5th, 2024 at Thornton View LTC in her 77th year. Teresa was the only child of the late John and Wanda Hejking, beloved mother of Stephanie (Ian) and David (Melissa), proud grandmother of Jagger, Ethan, Evelyn, Ruby and Zoey. She will also be missed by remaining family in Latvia and many friends whom she considered like family.
Teresa, a devoted French teacher whose inspiring dedication spanned over 25 years with the Upper Canada District School Board. Through her passion and expertise, she not only imparted linguistic skills but also cultivated a lasting appreciation for the beauty of the French language, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her students.
Teresa was free spirit whose zest for life was epitomized by a profound love for travel and a deep affection for animals. Whether traversing the distant landscapes of Australia or caring for furry companions, Teresa embraced a life of adventure and compassion, leaving cherished memories of exploration and a legacy of kindness towards all creatures great and small.
The family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the caring and compassionate nursing staff of Thornton View for professionalism shown to Teresa and her family. A celebration of Teresa’s life will take place at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 1-3 pm. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Alzheimer Society or the Ontario SPCA.
