Teofilo “Pilo” Mondala

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Teofilo Mondala on October 14, 2020 at our home in Scarborough, Ontario at the age of 76.

Pilo is greatly missed by his beloved wife of 44 years, Adoracion “Babes” Mondala (nee Uy), cherished children Ann Maureen (Daniel Summerhill), Cherie Rose (Mathieu Boucher) and Mychael Chretian, grandchildren Patrick Teo, Sophie Rose and Lilly Emilene, brother Fernando (Leninisa) Mondala and sister Janet Mintac. He is lovingly remembered by his nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents Mariano Mondala and Julita Mondala (nee Palma) and brother, Magno Mondala.

Family and friends are invited to Visitation and Funeral Service at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 10-12 AM, with Father Edwin Galea officiating. Interment will follow immediately.

Pilo was born on September 4,1944 at Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines and had lived in Quezon City, Philippines before coming to Toronto, Canada in 2003. He graduated with the degree in Accounting and had spent most of his career life as a Senior Accountant for pipe manufacturing company in the Philippines. He had served in Couples for Christ (CFC) Philippines as Chapter Servant, Household head and Assistant Chapter Youth Coordinator and continued as a member in Canada.

Pilo is passionate about gardening, sports especially NBA basketball (fan of Stephen Curry and Toronto Raptors), music especially Elvis Presley and the Beatles, dancing and watching old movies and documentaries.

Pilo will be fondly remembered as a deeply loving dedicated husband, Dad, Lolo and Tito, an extraordinary patient, simple, down to earth, kindhearted, quiet, courageous and gentle soul.
