In memory of

Teija Kiirsa Korjus-Parker

October 15, 1997 -  September 5, 2024

Teija Kiirsa Korjus-Parker, 26 of Toronto, died September 5, 2024. She was born October 15, 1997 to Tiina Korjus and David Parker. Teija was a young woman with exceptional artistic talent. She created masterpieces with paint and other mediums. She was a celebrated rhythmic gymnast, brilliant with all apparatuses. Teija performed The Nutcracker at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts with the National Ballet of Canada. She had a gaggle of friends in the Estonian community and in high school; some of whom she studied with at Queen's University. She was the apple of her mum's eye and they were as close as close could be. Teija was present at all family gatherings, often travelling to and from with her beloved Onu Mark, who supported her throughout her life, ensuring she always had what she needed. When she wasn't palling around here at home, she would be travelling the world, either for gymnastic competitions or exploring esoteric places with a good friend. Teija stole our hearts from her first words of "yaddle daddle" to her last day in the summer of 2024.

Teija will be missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tiina Korjus and father, David Parker. A private funeral service will be held in early September 2024 with interment at York Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joekaaru at https://joekaaru.com/en/donate (see link to charity in donations tab.) A memorial tree will be planted in Teija's name at Camp Joekaaru in the spring of 2025.

I remember meeting Teija for the first time at my Vanaema’s house. She came to visit with her mom, Tiina. It was so special to meet her since we were about the same age. I remember we had a splits contest (which she very clearly won) and had fun tumbling and dancing in the backyard. She was beautiful and so talented, may she rest in peace and be comforted in the arms of her Ema and Vanaema.
