Tap Fung Lew passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 26, 2023, at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was 94 years old.
He was born in China and moved to Toronto in the mid 1950’s, where he shared a wonderful long life with his wife Susan and four children. He ran his own drycleaning business before moving into the restaurant business working behind the scenes as a cook. He regularly received tips from customers who enjoyed his fine cuisine.
He had a passion for watching sports on TV, never missing a Leaf game in 60 years but he loved his family more than anything else. His greatest joy were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Chu). Beloved father to son Stanley (Janice), daughters Anne (Bill) Bergen and Betty (Harry) Cheong, son Sandy (Shelley). Devoted grandfather to Jonathan (Priya), Christopher (Jennee), Justin (Katie), Andrew (Justina), Rachel and Averey and great grandfather to Paige, William and Devi.
A visitation will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 625BirchmountRoad,Scarboroughon December 2, 2023, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, followed by a private family funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
