In memory of

Sylvia Rosa Trujillo

August 10, 1943 -  April 17, 2022

With heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend, Sylvia Rosa Trujillo, passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2022 at the age of 78, surrounded by her husband and her three children. Sylvia was born in Santiago, Chile in 1943, and married the love of her life, Julio Trujillo in May 1964. Julio left Santiago and settled in Toronto in February 1974. Sylvia and her children joined him in July of the same year. They lived in Etobicoke, and in 1976 moved to Brampton, Ontario.
Sylvia is survived by three children: Mary Panteleris (Stavros), Geraldine Ristucci (Bruno) and Marcello Trujillo (Ania); and nine grandchildren: Alessandro, Nicholas, Serena, Stephanie, Christina, Paschalis, Lucia, Leonardo and Helena.
Sylvia was an exceptional woman of strength, integrity and perseverance. She rose to meet any challenge head on, never one to shy away. Even through the toughest years when she experienced such adversity, she smiled, found inner strength and continued forward on her journey. Her faith was unwavering. The doors to her home and heart were open to everyone. And each person she met left little footprints on her heart. She was always the first to lend a helping hand. She was loved and admired by her friends and extended family. And adored by her children and grandchildren. She loved her family passionately and expressed such pride in her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest success story.
She will be sadly missed by all. Rest in peace. Until we meet again.

I am still in shock to hear that my "mama chilena" Sylvia has left us. She was an awesome woman. I still remember the first day I met her (and the family) and she treated me like another family member. I will miss her but have the hope that I will get to see her again. Que en paz descanses mi querida Sylvia. Many people you left behind all love you, me included.
