In memory of

Sylvester John Frederick

December 3, 1936 -  March 15, 2024

It is with deep sadness that the Frederick family announces the passing of Sylvester Frederick, our dear father, husband, grandfather, uncle after a lengthy illness. Sylvester was religious and a consistent hard working family man who came from humble roots and constantly pushed forward for the benefit of his family.

His roots trace from Antigua by his grandfather who moved to Dominica.
The first born of his father Winston Frederick and Marietta Isaac, he will be remembered by his wife, Mavie (married for 64 years); son, Ray; daughters, Avis (Brian), and Ann (Dwight). He was predeceased by and reunited with his eldest son, David.
Grandchildren, Denzel and Samuel.
Predeceased by brothers Chamberline, Max, and Norristan.
Sisters, Eucynthia and Maria.
Brothers, Maxforson, Matson, Alson and Tilson.
Close friends of the Herod's, Louis' and Davis'.
Numerous brothers in laws, sisters in laws, nieces and nephews.

Sylvester started as an apprentice welder under his father in 1955 and spent the majority of his career rising to be the team lead at his Midas location.
Sylvester and his wife consistently saved while upgrading their family home starting in England.
Sylvester leveraged his job by obtaining Midas scholarships for his sons to attend university and providing support to all his children as best as he could. It was greatly appreciated.
Sylvester also provided support for his family in Dominica, giving with no strings attached.
He was quite the role model and as they say in Dominica a "builder". He will be greatly missed as we rub his bald head for luck.
The funeral will be broadcast online, followed by a catered reception.
