In memory of
Sydney George Spence
September 12, 1924 -
August 29, 2016
Sydney George Spence was born on September 12, 1924 in the beautiful island of Jamaica to Sabina Beaumont (mother) and Lester Spence (father). He passed peacefully on August 29, 2016. He married the love of his life Adlyn Adella Spence in Jamaica on November 5, 1952. They enjoyed over 64 years of marriage. They have one son, Paul and two granddaughters, Sarah and Joanna.
They moved to England where they enjoyed a life with sisters who they treated as daughters. They eventually moved to Canada in 1968. Sydney was an amazing carpenter. He made many special projects for his family. He enjoyed taking care of his property. He took pride in everything he did. He was always well groomed with his perfect hair and sharp suits.
Sydney loved the Lord and took his family to church on Sundays. He loved traveling to Florida with his wife. Although he travelled to other parts of Canada and the United States, Jamaica was the place he spoke about the most.
During his later years he would often speak about wanting to go back to Jamaica.
Sydney George Spence is survived by his loving wife Adlyn, his son Paul and his grand daughters Sarah and Joanna. All of the following siblings are still alive: Beryl Miles, Joyce Burke, Jasmine McKenzie, Sheila Bryan and brother Victor Spence. Sydney was blessed to have a very large extended family, which includes his in-laws Sylvester Lawrence, Victor-Lynn Blackwood, Granville Lawrence, Etta Downie, Wilton Lawrence, Ellen Daley, Dorothy Reynolds and Ralda Jerry and their spouses and children, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and family and friends who loved him. In the end, Sydney Spence was a man of God and he will dwell in the House of the Lord Forever. May he rest in peace.
