In memory of

Sybil Cann

February 5, 1915 -  August 21, 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother on August 21st, 2019, at the age of 104, acquiescing bravely to Dementia disease.

She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Cyrus.

Sybil will be mourned by her children Yvonne, Joan, Chesley and Michael. Sybil was preceded in death by her husband Cyrus, her youngest son John, her parents John and Adelaide, and her siblings Mavis, Carlos, Lou, Lesline and Dudley. Mom was blessed to have the company of her many generations of nieces, nephews and longtime friends in Canada, the USA and Jamaica.

Sybil was a loving and caring mother, wife, aunt, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, mother in law, and friend, who always had a positive attitude along with determination and a sense of humor, and who, regardless of obstacles and life challenges, never gave up.

Although we celebrate her life, she will be sadly missed.

The family wishes to express our gratitude and appreciation for the care provided by Dr. Rastogi, Dr. Coish, Marina and other nurses, the CCAC, and last but not least, PSW's from Spectrum Health Care, Christina and Naja.

Visitation will be held at the York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, in North York (416-221-3404), on Monday, August 26th, 2019, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 PM in the chapel at the funeral home. Interment will be in the York Cemetery next to the funeral home.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, online donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada at www.alzheimer.ca.

Dear Aunt Cissie,

Another light has gone out in this world. I will never forget you and your lovely laugh. And your voice as you said “Darling..” every time you hugged and greeted me.

We were all so lucky to have had you for as long as we did. You will truly be missed for all the wonderful things you did and were ... but most of all for just for being my dear, sweet Aunt Cissie.

Unfortunately, I never met you, but, I feel as though I know you very well. The humour you passed on to your son could only have come from you. Rest in peace
