“Sweet City Sue”

Peacefully in her sleep, has moved on from this earth.

Sister of Cynthia, Gloria, Rose, Carole, and Marc. Mother to Kristine, Shayne, and Michael. Grandmother to Claire and Chloe. She was predeceased by her parents Estelle and Duff, brother Denis, and son Kevin.

Born and raised in Sturgeon Falls Ontario, she was a gifted, bright woman, with many talents and great ambition. She left home in the early ‘70, and with a few stops along the way she made her way south to the GTA. She retired from being a “Jill of all Trades” working in real estate and insurance, but, being well-known for her gift in the kitchen was also a restaurant owner/ operator in the town of Coboconk Ontario. Not being the best singer, Sue would often sing her heart out in the kitchen, she admired The Beatles, Rod Stewart, The Police, or any “Classic Rock” ...including the disco phenoms ABBA and the Bee Gees. Her more recent days were spent with her best friend Alda in the quiet town of Newtonville Ontario, where she gardened, discovered new recipes, watched birds, and sipped white wine by the fire. Having an open-door policy saw wherever she lived busy with life, laughs, and an ever-extending family, it was no question that she was loved by many, her spirit will live on through memories.

A Visitation will be held at Meadowvale Cemetery (7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, ON), on March 3, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 609 (1133 Queen St E, Brampton, ON). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SickKids Foundation or the CAMH Foundation.

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me.
