Zsuzsi joined her beloved and adoring husband Ferko (aka Koko or Frank) and her much loved daughter Margie Lieberman (Irwin) on Friday, March 18, 2022 in her 93rd year. She leaves to mourn Margie’s children Rachel (Pietro) and Sarah (Jonah), her brother/ sisters-in law Peter and Anneleen Szatmari and Hilda Bleyer (late Stephen (aka Pista)) and cousin Eva Singer (the late Oscar) and all their children and grandchildren.

She will be very sadly missed by her daughter Kathy, son- in-law Jon Flanders and their daughters Andrea and Ally. We are forever grateful to Daisy and Diana and, more recently, to Nellie for their excellent care and devotion to my mom these last 4 years; to the wonderful PSWs from St. Elizabeth who supported them; and to nurse Emily and doctors Howe, Goldman and Thouin who made these last few days so much easier.

Donations in Zsuzsi’s memory to a charity providing support to the multitude of the world’s refugees would be greatly appreciated and would be a lovely way to honour my parents’ lives.

My mother’s life was marked by terrible tragedies in the earlier years and again later in life. But she managed them with great strength and pride and made sure that the in-between was filled with happiness, joy and love.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
