A close friend for over 60 years. A more giving, caring and loving friend could never be found.
I laughed when I saw the picture of Susan and smiled as I read the obituary. I only reconnected with Susan during the last 5 years. A year ago when she told me about the pancreatic cancer I began calling every week. We connected over constipation problems and remedies. She called it “the Batterman curse.” We discussed movies, both of us being movie buffs and traveling. I planned to visit this fall. Sadly she didn’t make it. I will remember her fondly and stay connected to my new found family, her children and hopefully their children. Rest well and in peace, Susan.
My husband and I met Susan in Aruba, we both stayed at the same AirBNB. We hit it off immediately and I so enjoyed our conversations over a glass of wine. We had so much admiration for Susan as a single women riding her bike all over the island visiting with people, shopping or swimming in the ocean. Her outgoing personality served her well as she met people where ever she went. She always share great stories of her daily adventures. We will truly miss her in Aruba. I will be going to her favourite spot on the beach under the trees and toast to her. She was one of a kind! Rest in peace Susan. Our deepest condolences to her family.
