In memory of

Susan Assunta Leo

December 30, 1937 -  November 21, 2021

Susan Assunta “Susie" Leo was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Nonna, Sister, and Friend to all who were privileged to know her. She left this world peacefully to meet her Lord on Sunday, November 21, 2021, after a long battle with Chronic Lung Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis, surrounded by her five children and 11 adoring grandchildren.
Mary (Bill, Josh & Jesse), Joanne (Gary, Brianna & Matthew), Nina (David, Rachel, Carleigh & Megan), Anthony (Jacob & Ellysa), and Elizabeth (Michael, Madison & Nolan). Loved and missed by her siblings Donna Raponi, Rose Principe and Angelo Raponi. She was predeceased by her loving husband Giovanni.

Everyone that met Susie loved visiting her home and spending time around the dining room table, enjoying loud, animated and boisterous conversation and Italian meals. Neighborhood children would gather around the kitchen table for after-school treats and a kind word from Mrs. Leo. Stories of our household “pets” abounded and we loved listening to Mom’s side of the stories about babaluci, bunnies, and chickens that would oddly disappear. She was a skilled hostess and filled her home with friends and family.

Saturday nights were about getting ready for church on Sunday. Our clothes were laid out, baths taken, and pizza packed for the long drive home.

Miraculously, Susie only left behind one of her children while leaving church on one occasion.

Susie’s passions in life were her love of God, her children, and grandchildren. Nonna attended every hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and gymnastics competition as well as plays, graduations, concerts, and award ceremonies. She had a great love of gardening.

Susan left her family and friends a wonderful legacy which is reflected in every life she touched. She left this world reminding all that she wanted to meet them in heaven one day.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 27th at Pine Hills Cemetery located at 625 Birchmount Road from 4-8pm.

On Sunday, November 28th visitation will begin at 10 am directly followed by a funeral service at 11 am.

Great Is My Faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see
All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see
All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see
All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord, unto me

Auntie Sue, the happiest memories of my childhood are with you and your family. Being scared of the goat in your backyard, never wanting to leave your News Year Day dinners and of course eating your most famous cannolis. Every time I see a goat, hear families laughing together or eat a cannoli I will fondly think of you!

The family can take solace in knowing that she is reunited with John and mom and dad. I’m sure they’re looking down on us today. My prayers are with all her family. May she Rest In Peace. Love to all from Donna and Peter
