許崇仁先生Sung Yen Hui

October 22, 1918 -  July 15, 2019

Mr. Sung Yen Hui, at the dear age of 99, peacefully left this earth to join his wife in Heaven, while surrounded by family at St. Michael’s Hospital in Downtown Toronto.

Mr. Sung Yen Hui was born in Wuchuan, Guangdong Province in China on October 22, 1918. In his early years, he was an academic scholar with a University Degree in Economics from Kuo Meng University. He married Man-Yiu Ng and together they had 3 wonderful children, Dominic, Catherine and Peter.

When Dominic moved to Canada, he sponsored the whole family over and Mr. & Mrs. Sung Yen Hui lived happily in Cabbagetown, Toronto for many years. Every day he would spend his time walking the streets of Spadina Chinatown, smiling and meeting everyone that passed by and became a well-respected member of the Chinatown Community. He even took ESL classes so he could learn English to speak with the Canadians in Toronto.

His proudest accomplishments, were not his education, nor his popularity in the community, but his Family. He was a proud grandfather of 5, who call him Ye Ye or Gong Gong, and loved each and every one of them equally. He then later became a great-grandfather of 4 wonderful children whom they call him Tai Gong.

He is survived by his eldest son, Dominic Hui, daughter, Catherine Ho, and youngest son, Peter Hui, as well as the grandchildren, Carmen Hui, Judy Allaire, Stacy Hui, Felix Hui and Clement Ho. And his great grandchildren Daniel, Max, Alex and Celeste Allaire.

Mr. Sung Yen Hui’s Visitation will be held at York Cemetery at 160 Beecroft Rd., North York ON. In the Willowdale room, this Saturday, July 20th at 1pm.
Celebration of Life starts at 2pm.
Burial will be at 3:15pm.
