It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, and brother/cousin Sukhbir Sidhu.

Born in Bathinda, India, Sukhbir was an optimistic child, always dreaming of what could be. He grew to love the arts and seemed destined to share his light with the world in the form of entertainment. A talented singer and actor, he went on to host numerous radio and television shows and starred in the popular Indian drama Aaj Ke Rishte among others. His proudest accomplishment was that of his radio program, Yahoo Radio on CJMR 1320 where he reached a wide audience due to his ability to speak multiple languages including Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi, and English. His infectious laughter and approachable nature cemented his status as a staple in the South Asian-Canadian community.

His ability to command an audience was impressive but his proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family. Sukhbir was a father to Sheena, Kavan, and Raju. His family wanted the best for him and supported him through good and bad seasons.

Like all of us, Sukhbir faced challenges that sometimes threatened to dim his light but his soul remained bright and pure. Although he is no longer with us, his light continues to burn bright through the memories we have of his smile, his lovely voice and his belief that tomorrow would be better than today.
