In memory of
Suey Kam Ing
August 8, 1936 -
December 30, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Suey Kam Ing on December 30th 2019 at the age of 83, in Toronto, Ontario. She lived a long fulfilling life as a wonderful wife to her husband, Thomas “Yuen Cham” Ing. A loving Mother to her daughters Rita Poole (Mark Olson), Sandra Ing, Linda Ing-Gilbert (Fabien Gilbert), her son Wayne Ing (Pamela Cruz) and daughter Wendy Ing. A cherished grandmother to Berkeley Poole (Jamie Webster), Cameron Poole, Brianne Cooper, Gary Cooper, Teri Ing, Adam Gilbert, Eric Gilbert, Juliette Gilbert, Nathan Ing, Sonya Ing and Sydney Ing.
A devoted partner, Suey Kam operated several successful restaurants with her husband, Thomas, along with setting a precedent, for their 5 children and 11 grandchildren, they were also incredible role models and epitomized the very meaning of entrepreneurship and hard work. They were an inseparable and formative pair. Over the past few years, they lived together at Nisbet Lodge. Never needing an occasion for a family get-together, family dinners and outings, they were constantly visiting with family. She especially enjoyed playing mah-jongg and taught all 5 children how to play. It was always more of an excuse to sit together, mingle, chat and have fun as opposed to playing the actual game.
Suey Kam will be fondly remembered as always being immensely maternal, loving, nurturing and caring. Her legacy will live forever in our hearts.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to all of her caregivers and staff at Nisbet Lodge, where she received phenomenal attentive and devoted care over the past few years.
Please join us in celebrating and honouring her life on Saturday January 11th 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre. Interment with immediate family members will take place afterwards at Mount Pleasant.
Please gather with the Family at Dim Sum King Seafood in Chinatown to honour and celebrate Suey Kam's Life.
Please consider a memorial donation to Nisbet Lodge.
