In Loving Memory of Sudesh Gupta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sudesh, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world on August 9th, 2024. Her life was a testament to the power of love, devotion, and family.

Born on December 5, 1933 in Mansa, Punjab, Sudesh was a pillar of strength and love. At the age of 61, she immigrated to Canada to be with her children and embraced it as her new home. She dedicated her life to her family, raising her four children and grandchildren. As a mother, she guided her children with unwavering support, teaching them the values of kindness, resilience, and generosity.

Her love multiplied as her family grew. As a grandmother, she was the most loving and patient woman. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was always there to celebrate their milestones, big or small.

In her later years, she embraced the joy of becoming a great-grandmother. Her great-grandson brought her endless joy, and she found so much happiness in watching him grow. Kai adored his Nani and loved getting special treats (cookies) from her. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Sudesh was more than a matriarch; she was the heart and soul of her family. Her love knew no bounds, and her kindness touched everyone she met. Her smile and laughter lit up any room she was in. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her children Indu/Shiv, Hema, Pankaj/Neena, Poonam, her grandchildren Ronish/Jenna, Tanya, Neha, and her great-grandson Kai, and countless other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

A service to honour her memory will be held on Friday, August 16 at Elgin Mills Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that if you do want to provide a gift in her memory, donations be made to the Scarborough Health Network: https://www.shnfoundation.ca, and Foodbanks Canada: https://foodbankscanada.ca, causes close to Sudesh and our family's heart.

Rest in peace, Mummy/Nani/Dadi. We will always keep you in our heart and memory, and continue to honour your legacy.

She was Chachiji of my father and we also addressed her as Chachiji.
With her leaving this world, an era has ended in the family.
A self made personality in Bansal household, gave boundless love to the whole family, neighbors and friends.
We met her recently in April 2024 after more than a decade and could take her blessings.
May she rest in peace and may her journey be filled with joy, love and happiness. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Dear Hema,

I wanted to pass on my condolences, and send love to you and your family during this difficult time. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing your mom, but I know she was a special person because of the amazing person (and other family) she raised. I hope you find peace during this time.

Thinking of you,
