In Loving Memory of
Steven Kenneth James Mitchell

Father, Son, Brother,
Uncle, Friend, Eternal Joker
“Loved by all”
Steve Mitchell passed away at 11:00 pm on July 30th at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. He was surrounded by family and friends until the very end. He succumbed to severe head trauma after being on life support for over a week and a half.
A loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Steven is survived by his Son Carter, Mother Lynne, Brothers Dan (Marina) and Aaron (Susan), Niece Emma, Friend Josie, Former partner Candy, and her entire family along with the many friends and children that knew him as the "fun Uncle Steve". The eternal jokester who could make even the most challenging day end in laughter.
Born and raised in the East side of Scarborough, Steve made many friends in his long career in hospitality and then in film. He loved his son and was a passionate father. More than anything, he enjoyed his time away from the city and his time spent at the Scarborough Bluffs with friends. Arguing about if he looked more like Danial Creg, Jason Siegal, or Mike D.
Time with his family was precious, and he was vocal about his feelings to anyone close. He touched everyone who knew him in some way, was empathetic and funny to all those around him. We will all miss him dearly every day and are better off having had him in our lives.
On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank the friends for all the good wishes, the family that was there every day, the amazing doctors and nurses at St Mike's hospital. They tried so hard, and we're so compassionate with Steve and our entire family. We were lucky to have had the chance to say our goodbyes. For that, we are forever grateful.
A final thank you to the Toronto Police Services for their ongoing, caring, and compassionate treatment through the entire investigation of this tragic event.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations may be made to St. Michael’s hospital on his behalf. https://stmichaelsfoundation.com/donate/
Due to covid restrictions, the funeral services are limited to family only. We understand that many of you will wish to show your respects; we ask that you remember Steve in your way, comfort each other, knowing that we all share the grief of his loss.
