In memory of

Steve Strumos

July 11, 1936 -  May 20, 2021

It is with great love and heart break that the family of Steve Strumos announce that on May 20, 2021 he passed away surrounded by loved ones.
Steve leaves behind the love of his life and wife of over 60 years, Alice, his son, Dan and his wife Adelita, his daughter Helen and her husband Dino and his much adored grandchildren, Steven and Matthew (Helen/Dino) and Alissa (Dan/Adelita).

From Dan & Helen...

To know our Dad, we know that, he is leaving behind an enormous community of family and friends that share in our immense sorrow. We always had unconditional love from dad and appreciated his kind, fun and contagious energy all our lives. What we realize even more so now is that he was a truly an exceptional man to everybody that had the fortune of knowing him.

He radiated kindness and humour and exuded joy even up to his last days, even the doctor and nurses that cared for him in his final days would tell us repeatedly, we love your dad.

When you were around Dad, he somehow infused his positive energy and light into you and before you knew it, you were laughing at one of his one-liners or engrossed in a funny story. If you were in his home, you certainly wouldn't be there for long without fervent offerings of a drink and something to eat, he wanted to feed you belly and your soul constantly.

Our family will struggle with grieving for our loss, but will take solace in all of the love he was able to infuse throughout his years.

Due to the current Covid-19 gathering restrictions, the funeral service will be private. There is a sad irony that we are not able to honour our dad with the chance to greet the family and friends who would have honoured him at a visitation.

Please know that we accept your condolences and if you wish, please take a moment to share and sign the guest book.

As an alternative to flowers, we suggest any donations to be made to the Sunnybrook Foundation or Mackenzie Health Foundation in Steve's honour. With the holiday Monday, any flowers sent need to be received between 8am - 9am at the Elgin Mills Funeral Center on Tuesday, May 25th to be included in Steve's service.

Your love and support during these difficult times are greatly appreciated.
