To the Yong Family,
Our deepest condolences to all of you from the staff and clients at the CHATS RH Adult Day Program. Stephen was a longtime member who always came to the program with a smile and kind words for all. He enjoyed his twice weekly visits in which he made many good friends. It was a pleasure to have known him.
We will miss him dearly.

Dear Michelle and family,

Our sincerest condolences to your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

At the age of 17, I was thinking of going to college in Canada and your parents were so kind to offer me a place to stay. I will never forget your father's kindness and fatherly advices on the importance of education. Please be assured that your father was great man who impacted the lives many and he will be greatly missed.

I hope for you and your family that you will find the strength and courage in these difficult times.

I really feel for you.

Take care.

It is with great sadness that our beloved father - Stephen Yong, has left us on February 1, 2020 due to heart issue.

Our Dad, Stephen Yong achieved success and respect in many aspects of his life.

Our Dad was a firm believer in education and the value of academics. In his younger life Dad did not have the opportunity to receive higher education. But, throughout his adult life Dad never quit learning; wether mastering his English communications, enjoying his computer, or advancing his Chinese medicine and acupuncture practices. Our Dad always ensured that each of his four children received the best education they deserved. As difficult as it was, Dad and Mom sent their young children far away to school, seeing them only one month per year, as Dad knew it would put us on the path to lifelong happiness and security. Whenever we shared knowledge and achievements with Dad, it always made him proud.

Our Dad was a visionary and never afraid to take on new challenges in life. In 1989, in order to provide a better life for his family, Dad decided to leave everything behind in Malaysia and started our new life here in Canada. This was not an easy journey, but Dad was the anchor of the family, successfully leading us to integrate into the life here and making it our new home. During this journey Dad’s interest and guidance in our lives created many beautiful memories within each of us which we’ll carry in our hearts forever.

Rest in peace Dad. You will be greatly missed.
