In memory of

Stephen (Istvan) Demeter

October 20, 1964 -  August 6, 2023

It is with great sorrow, we share the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Stephen on Sunday, August 6, 2023. He lived his life with grace and dignity and enriched the lives of all who knew him. He loved and adored his daughter Stephanie, partner Edna, loving sister Marti (David) and his cat Chester. Forever remembered by his family, friends and colleagues at Canada Post. He was known for his quirky sense of humor and his ability to put you at ease. If you ask anyone, they will say that he was a “good and kind man”.

He will be sadly missed.

Visitation will take place at Pine Hills Funeral Centre 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4-8pm and Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10-11am with funeral services to follow at 11am.

We were so shocked to hear of Stephen’s sudden passing. Although, I didn’t know him well and only knew him as Marti’s brother, I remembered him as “larger than Life” when he entered the room. Our deepest condolences to Stephanie, Tessie and Edna.

Stephen was such a genuine good hearted person. He was there to make your day brighter. The smile was there to encourage you. He did not sweat the small things. That is how I know my dear friend Stephen. I was looking forward to your visit to Newfoundland with your partner. He even mentioned visiting with the Cod Father. A little joke we use have a laugh with. I will miss your encouragement and humor. Love you, Marilyn
