Mother-in-law” they say, and yet
Somehow I simply can’t forget
When her life had just began
You were the one who held her hand
“Twas you who watched her baby ways,
Who guided her through her difficult days,
Who smiled on her with loving pride,
When she first toddled by your side
“Mother-in-law” but oh, ’twas you
Who taught her to be kind and true;.
And as she grew, no longer a girl
As a young woman thru life she danced with a twirl
But when troubles befell, and she began to falter
You were always there to help your daughter
And when I joined as her chosen one
You welcomed me as if a son
And tho’ a different language we talked
Many years on life’s path together we walked
“Mother’-in-law” they say, and yet
Somehow I never shall forget
How much to you we truly owe
As you helped and watched our children grow
You trained your daughter to rise above,
You made of her the woman I love.
And so I think of that today
When with thankful heart I’ll say,
“Our Mother.”

Rest in peace Mama,

“We Had a Wonderful Mother” – Unknown Author

We had a wonderful mother,
One who never really grew old;
Her smile was made of sunshine,
And her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in her cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful mother,
And that’s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because
She’s still keeping an eye on all of us,
So let’s make sure
She will like what she sees.

Babcia was an extraordinary woman. She was fierce, strong and courageous. It was evident how dearly she loved her family, and even more evident how much they loved her. May she Rest In Peace.
