Born on January 14, 1940 in Georgetown, Guyana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2023 in Toronto, Ontario. Beloved husband of Eunice “Una” Carew (nee Richards). Loving father of Sean (Allison), Trevor (Danielle) and the late Eion Richards (Zybina). Proud grandfather of Ayesha, Darren, Luke, Solana, Noah, Gabriella and Jason (Jessica). Adored great grandfather of Christopher and Alexander. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 4 pm at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787 (South of Taunton Road, enter through gates off Dryden Blvd.).

I will truly miss you, Uncle Mike. So many beautiful memories of your wonderful life to cherish. You were a kind, loving, and jovial man, a dedicated husband and father, always smiling and with a happy and cheerful disposition. You were a man of faith who lived out what you believed. You have fought the good fight. You are absent from life on the earth, and will be missed; but you are now present with your God, resting in eternal peace, which is better. Will always love you.
