To the family of the late Stanley Kwan. We send our deepest condolences and sympathies to Stan's family. Very sorry to learn about the passage of Stanley. We are gonna miss him, especially, his help in making the annual Quan picnic such a success each year in July month.

Recall speaking to Stan at the club house for The Quan Association Of Ontario, 1909, as well as the numerous banquets over the years, at so many of the popular restaurant venues around Our Toronto. We spoke about the two associations; namely, the Quan See and the Lung Kong Tin Yee Association and how much we enjoyed belonging to these family benevolent Associations. We travelled with Stan on several trips with The Lung Kong and The Quan See. The most memorable was the trip to PRC China, on a bus, known as a "gow doy cheah". The direct translation of the phrase would be a doggie car. It means a highway bus, with a running dog painted on the side, as opposed to a yellow school bus. We travelled on the coastal highway from Hoy Ping District to a Quan conference in FooShan Province.

The memorable trip happened in the year 2008. The final farewell dinner was a grand picnic for upwards of 800 honoured guests, held on the volley ball courts of a high school. We were looking at a photograph with 8 members of Quan See and we were all wearing red tee shirts, . . . . all except Big Stan. They did not have a red tee shirt to fit cos he was so large.

Recall speaking to Stan about his work at Ryerson as a computer expert, his large family and all the exciting voyages over the past years. He was a good guy. May Stan Rest in Peace.

I've known Stan at Ryerson for the past six years and even though he was going through some tough times he always seemed to be positive and smiling. I'm sorry that he has passed but I'm glad to have gotten to know him.
