In memory of

Spyridon Jinargyros

October 6, 1938 -  January 15, 2020

With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Spyridon Jinargyros. God called onto Spyridon on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 and he passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years, with his loving family by his side. Born in Corfu, Greece on October 06, 1938 and immigrated to Canada in 1970. He later became a Canadian Citizen in 1977. Beloved husband of Alexandra, married since July 1, 1962. Loving father of Cesar (Melissa) and George (Paula). Cherished Grandfather of Kira (Joel), Mathew and Spiro. Predeceased by his adored late parents Cesar and Andigonni Jinargyros. Loyal son in law of George and Frances Jinargyros.
Although Spyridon was a Certified Electrician in Greece, he had to re certify himself in Canada as a Master Electrician. Spyridon also took English classes at night, after working long days at the Campbell Golf Clubs. He was a founding member and former president of the Greek Orthodox St. Irene Church. He was also a founding member and former president the Canadian Corfu Association.
Spyridon will always be remembered for his love of breaking bread with family and friends, and his devotion and participation in church and chanting hymns during mass. For enjoyment he loved playing cards and backgammon. Other times all he needed for enjoyment was a nice grilled Scorpio and Octopus, or a simple morning coffee at the mall chatting with friends. Growing up on the shores of Corfu and having a father who was a professional fisherman, Spyridon had a passion for fishing and passed that along to his two sons, Cesar and George. In retirement he traveled to Corfu, Greece every year. In his later years as travelling became more difficult and he familiarized himself with Skype and Facebook and was still able to keep in touch with family and friends.
Spyridon will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his extended family and friends.
May He Rest in Peace.

We didn't know Spiros very well but he was very kind to us for the short time we knew him. Spiros accepted me and found me funny for some reason ( Peter ). I gravitated to him immediately. I know he will be dearly missed by his Family and Friends. To the entire Family please remember the good times that's what Spiros would want.
All our Love and Prayers are with you at this time.
