In memory of

Spyridon Krimbalis

August 20, 1938 -  September 3, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Spyridon (Spiros) Krimbalis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who left us peacefully on September 3, 2024, at the age of 86.

A truly selfless, yet self-made man, Spiro was born in Vouno, Greece, where he developed a strong sense of family, community, and hard work. He carried these values with him throughout his life and to Canada, becoming a cherished figure to all, and a pillar of the Greek Community. A devoted husband to Anthoula, their love for one another spanned 49 years. Together, from nothing, they built an incredible life for themselves and their family.

As a father, Spiro was the guiding light to his children, Jim and Peter (Susan), instilling in them the principles of integrity, honesty, hard work, perseverance, and humility. His wisdom and encouragement were unwavering, and his pride in their accomplishments was evident to all. His grandchildren Theo and Elias, who lovingly called him “Pappou,” brought him endless joy, and he cherished the moments spent watching them grow and thrive, and celebrate their achievements.

Spiro was also a cherished brother to Maria (Yiannis) and Ioanna (Vasilios), always remaining close to his family roots, and a beloved uncle who left a lasting impression on his numerous nieces and nephews, in particular Peter and Jim, with whom he had deep and paternalistic bond.

A man of unshakeable integrity, Spiro was respected by many in his community. His generosity, warmth, and welcoming spirit touched the lives of all who crossed his path. Whether it was through his words of wisdom, devotion to family, or simply his presence as a leader, he brought comfort and security to those around him.

Though he is no longer with us, Spiro's legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will continue to live on through the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

May his memory be eternal.
