In memory of

Soula Chappins

October 26, 1937 -  July 6, 2023

CHAPPINS (VLACHOS), Soula (Sally)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Soula (Sally, Athanasia) Chappins (Vlachos) - a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her memory will live on in her son John (Rosa), daughter Roula (Bill), and grandchildren Sally (Paolo), Costa, Peter (Cassandra), Bessie, and Athanasia. She will also be fondly remembered by her great granddaughters, Sofia and Chiara, as well as all of the nieces, nephews and relatives who loved her.

Soula was born on October 26, 1937 in Athens, Greece. She passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023 at the age of 85. She came to Canada as a young woman and worked tirelessly as a seamstress and upholsterer until eventually supporting her husband full time at the St. Lawrence Market where they owned a fish and meat shop. She will always be remembered for her strength, resiliency, determination, and perseverance that she emphasized right up until her final moments. All who had the pleasure of knowing her will never forget her innate sense of humour, remarkable cooking, striking personality, and unwavering love for her family.

Although she may no longer be with us in person, we take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her husband, her true love Kosta, in Heaven, just in time for their 67th wedding anniversary on July 8.

Our thoughts and prayers go to all her family; especially her children John and Roula. We had the extreme pleasure and delight to have met her, laughed and celebrated with her - she will be missed but her spirit and energy lives on in the legacy she left behind...her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. May her memory be eternal, and it will when you speak of her and share memories of her together. May she rest in peace.
