Sotirios (Sam) Yiouroukis in his 101 year. Born on January 5, 1924, died quietly in his sleep on September 18, 2024. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Helen. They would have celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary in November. Loving father to Sophia (John), Freida (Michael) and Johnny (Maureen). Devoted Detho to 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Our father and his brother Louis (Ilo) (deceased), were born to Paschalini and Stavro in Alona Florina, Greece. He survived the Greek civil war, enduring many hardships. He was an example of quiet courage, determination and resilience all of his life. Dad brought brought our family to Canada in 1956 for a better life. He was hard working, loving, committed and supportive of our family, always wanting to know how everyone was doing. He will be forever loved and remembered.
Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Sunday September 22, 2024 for Visitation from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday September 23, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment to take place within Pine Hills Cemetery following the Service.
