In memory of

Sotirios (Sam) Mavraganis

May 19, 1927 -  November 4, 2021

In his 95th year after a brief illness, Sotirios (Sam) was called by God from this earth. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and great uncle and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by Vassiliki, his loving wife of 63 years. He is also survived by his son George (Penny) Mavraganis.

Sotirios was born in the village of Agia Eleni, Troizinias, Greece. In May of 1958 he married Vassiliki in the fishing village of Koilada, Argolidos. After the birth of his son George, and in late 1961, he emigrated to Munich, West Germany to work at the MAN Truck and Bus assembly plant. He reunited with his wife when she joined him in Munich in 1962.

After five years in Germany, Sotirios, Vassiliki and their only child George moved to Toronto, Canada to start a new life in September of 1966. Sam will be greatly missed by generations of family and life-long friends both in Canada and in Greece. He will always be remembered as an extremely active, outgoing, loving and devoted family man and friend.
