In memory of

Sophie Stevenson

May 31, 1961 -  December 25, 2024

On Christmas night, at the age of 63, Sophie left this world in the comfort of her home to join her loved ones in heaven after celebrating the day with her family. Though sudden and unexpected, the hours preceding this unbearable loss were filled with joy, laughter, dancing and singing. Sophie was given a second chance at life in the summer of 2024, and she lived each day to the fullest. Whether it was dancing and singing around the house, spending time with her children and grandchildren, or watching a movie with her beloved husband, Sophie extended unconditional love, selflessness and vibrancy everywhere she went. She was the most incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to everyone in her life. Sophie was the mom of all moms, and she accepted everyone as her own. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 41 years, Robert, and their children Leanne (Terry), Tammy (Piero), Alexander (Tristan), and Ryan. She cherished her grandchildren Alessandro, Matteo, Chloe, Chiara and her furbaby, Coco. The youngest of eight siblings, Sophie will be kept company by her parents, Panagiotis and Ioulia, her brother, Constantine, and her mother-in-law, Emma, in heaven while she will be dearly missed by her other siblings and her many nieces and nephews. Sophie will be remembered for her love and light, and for always having a camera in her hand to memorialize family events. A visitation service has been scheduled for Sunday, December 29th from 4pm to 8pm at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre (1591 Elgin Mills Rd E, Richmond Hill, ON L4S 1M9). On Monday, December 30th, another opportunity for visitation is scheduled for 10am at Sts. Panteleimon, Anna & Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church of Markham followed by a service at 11am (11323 Warden Ave., Markham, ON L6C 1M9). Burial will follow the church service at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help with funeral expenses. Contributions can be made to abbott67@hotmail.com. Your generosity and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
