In memory of

Sophie Logush

July 12, 1932 -  February 24, 2020

Sophie (Miroslawa) Logush Born in Palczynce, Ukraine July 12, 1932 – February 24, 2020
Our loving, caring, sweet and Feisty Mom lost her battle to kidney failure on Monday evening. She went peacefully in her sleep with her children by her side.
Mom was a homemaker, dressmaker, office worker, newspaper correspondent for the local newspaper and much more but her most treasured roles were that of being a Mom and a Baba.
She was feisty, strong, a fighter, loved her family and made the BEST pickles and perogies ever. Mom loved to travel and was fortunate to be able to go on several cruises, have a little fun in Vegas and Reno, visited her home country of Ukraine a few times - once they gained back their independence, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Florida, Texas, Japan and Australia.
Sophie is survived by her daughter, Jennie Biss (John), two sons, Bill Logush (Helena), Jim Logush (Lesli), her 6 grandchildren, Stephen (Cristina), Lauren, Scotty, Oliver, Caroline and Andrew and her sister, Mary Shabatowski (Hudyma).
She was preceded in death by her husband Stepan Logush, Father Karl Hudyma, Mother Genka Hudyma, brothers Jack (Harry) Hudyma, Godfrey Hudyma and Yakiw Hudyma and sister, Dorothy Daoust (Hudyma).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation are greatly appreciated.

"Mrs. L" was the first person to handmake anything for my trio, she made the most gorgeous smock dresses that I still have today and the kids are 21, they will be passed down and her memory shared time and again. The perogies, the pickles, the vodka, the laughter, the will...these too shall all live on in her dear daughter Jen (my kids God Mother and a most dear friend) and her beloved children and grandchildren and extended children...she loved and was loved by so many.
