It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sophie Kalogiany on January 17th, 2021, at Southlake RHC, following a prolonged illness.

Sophie is survived by her beloved mother Velika, devoted sister Joanne Grouios (Jim) nephew Peter Grouios (Gisela) nieces Kathie Grouios and Lisa Brand (Shawn) and her great niece and nephew, Olivia and Luka. She is reunited with her father Risto.

Sophie was born in Statitsa, Macedonia (Greece) in 1946, and immigrated to Canada at the age of four. Sophie was smart, kind, caring, and will always be remembered for her tremendous sense of humour, and unwavering dedication to family and friends.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to all of the personal support workers who tirelessly
aided in Sophie's care over these many years.

Due to the current Ontario Government Covid-19 guidelines, a private service attended by only the immediate family will take place.
