In memory of

Sonia Sotiropoulos

December 14, 1959 -  January 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce that Sonia Sotiropoulos, of Toronto, Ontario passed away on January 12th 2022 at Toronto General Hospital.

Sonia, born on December 14th 1959 to Italian-Canadian parents Liliana and Rino Cuttini immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Survived by her loving husband Peter, and son’s Nicholas and Christopher.

Sonia, filled with curiosity, fell in love with travel, which brought her to places such as Italy, Australia, Greece, Switzerland and more. In 1988, she met Peter while working at Hudson’s Bay and since then the two were inseparable from that point on. Sonia and Peter were married for over 28 years and had two sons, Nicholas and Christopher.

Sonia was a fiercely devoted mother to both of her children, raising both boys with values of love and compassion for others, all while creating lifelong memories and laughs.
Not only was Sonia a role model for her own children, but for generations of students in her community. Sonia was a school secretary for the Toronto District School Board, and was actively involved in school and community events for several years. She was a true advocate for students and supporter of lifelong education.

Sonia’s involvement in the lives of her family, friends, neighbors and school community will be forever missed and never will be forgotten. She has touched all of our lives with warm chats and long laughs.

Jamie and I are so sorry to hear about Sonia. She always lit up a room with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was full of life and love for you and your boys.
My heart dropped a beat when I heard of her passing - she was much too young and vibrant to be gone so soon. She will live on in the lives and face of your sons.
Thinking of you Peter, Nicholas and Christopher keep laughing and loving life - it is what she would have wanted.
