Solomon Gotovsky

June 11, 1934 -  February 12, 2024

Sol passed away in his 90th year on February 12, 2024 at Sunnybrook Hospital after a brave fight with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his partner Margaret, his son Alex, wife Gail, granddaughters Katherine and Julia, his son Vadim. Sol was very proud of all of his family.
During his working life Sol was an engineer. Hel had an infinite number of fascinating stories to tell and was interested in everybody.His hobbies and interests included stamp collection, foraging for mushrooms, lawn bowling, bridge, travel and reading.
Expressions of remembrance can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My wife and I wish to express our deep condolences on the death of Sol.
We met him on several occasions here in Scotland and also in Canada.
He was a man of integrity and high intelligence with a deep knowledge and understanding of the human condition.
He was a good and faithful partner to my sister Margaret.
He will be much missed.

I will miss my partner and dearest friend Sol very much. I have lovely memories of times spent with Sol on holidays or just sitting and talking. He had an enquiring mind and was interested in a wide range of subjects.. He had a wealth of stories and adventures to tell.

I was terribly sorry to hear about Sol’s passing. He struck me as a very strong and intelligent person, inquisitive and knowledgeable on many subjects. He had clearly lived a very interesting life and had been very strong facing illness in his latter years. May he rest in peace.
