It is with greatest sadness the family of Solly Melameth shares his passing on April 21, 2022 at Sunnybrook Hospital in his 71st year. Solly’s pride and joy was his family: Shirley, his beloved wife and best friend of almost 27 years, his devoted children Barbara (Stanley) Bernard, Emmanuel. Adored Papa to Brittany (Darren), Nolan, Makayla, Brayden, Adele and Rose. He will be forever remembered for his kindness, infinite wisdom and quick wit. Friends may call at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Saturday, April 30, 2022 for visitation from 10:30 until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:30. Service will be webcast. Interment will follow. Donations will be gratefully accepted for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.

I had the pleasure of working with Solly the past 6 years. I could always expect some laughs but also a demand for efficiency when working together. He was the epitome of of gentleman.

Shirley, I have never witnessed a greater love and mutual respect than the one I saw between you and Solly. Though the loss is great, so is your love for one another. I hope that this helps in your journey of grief. What better guardian angel could you ask for? My deepest condolences to you and family.
