In memory of

Simona Alexandrova Kovchazova

December 9, 1970 -  June 27, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Simona Alexandrova Kovchazova on June 27th, 2025, at the age of 54, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Bulgaria on December 9th, 1970, Simona moved to Canada in 1998 to pursue her dreams. With strength, determination, and an open heart, she built a life that was meaningful and inspired the lives of many.

Simona was the devoted wife of Kosta and shared a special, unbreakable bond with her son George, who was both her pride and constant source of happiness. She was a cherished daughter to Mariyka and Alexander and deeply loved by her stepfather, Venko. She was also a beloved sister to Desislava, Toshko, Venci, and Svilan. Her faithful dog, Benji, was a constant source of comfort and companionship.

Simona was a passionate and dedicated teacher, known for her patience, wisdom, and gentle guidance. Her love for education and her students was evident in everything she did. She inspired countless young minds and left a lasting impact on everyone she taught.

Beyond her career, Simona found joy in many things. She had a deep love for traditional Bulgarian folklore dancing, proudly celebrating her culture through music and movement. She was an avid gardener, finding peace and happiness in nurturing her flowers and plants. She also had a keen eye for fashion, always expressing herself to the fullest.

Throughout her brave journey with cancer, Simona demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience. She faced every challenge with unwavering courage and never gave up hope, inspiring all who knew her with her determination and grace.

Her compassionate heart, poise, courage, and loyal dedication to those she held dear will live on in memory. Though her time with us was far too short, the love and light she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing someone like Simona is incredibly hard.
It’s so hard to believe and accept that I won’t see her dancing again. Even when she may have been in pain or feeling weak, she still radiated joy and light. That’s how I’ll always remember her. My thoughts are with your family during this difficult time.

It was a true privilege to work alongside Simona during her time as the Medical Lab Chair at Everest College Scarborough. As Campus President, I witnessed firsthand her unwavering dedication to her students, her program, and the values of education. Simona led with quiet strength, integrity and an unshakable passion for teaching. Her commitment to excellence and her deep care for every student left a lasting legacy in our college community. She made a difference - every single day. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. May her memory continue to inspire all who knew her.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Alan

Simona was a very special person with an infectious smile who always brightened every room she walked into. Although I didn’t work with her directly, she made sure that she would get to know everyone at the college we both worked for. Her bubbly personality always made campus events more special ! I’m saddened to hear of her passing, as for some reason I believed she had beat this illness. Deepest condolences to her spouse, son and close relatives and as well as all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace and remembered always!
