It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of beloved wife and mother Margaret Wong (maiden name Sim Siew Ging). Margaret passed peacefully in her sleep on February 17, 2017 at St. Michael's Hospital due to liver failure after falling ill in December 2016.

Margaret was born on November 3, 1948 in Sandakan, Malaysia as the 9th child and 5th daughter of 12 children. She married Wong Tien Sung on November 10, 1973. The couple had 3 children in Malaysia. The family immigrated to Canada in 1984 where another child was born. Margaret was very active in the school parents' committees for her children as well as the community politics in the neighbourhood in Toronto. Through her community activism, she met various political leaders such as Mike Harris - Premier of Ontario and Jean Chretien - Prime Minister of Canada. She will be remembered for her stubbornness, a strong opinion on many topics and her love of sweets. Margaret is survived by her husband, 4 children - Yee Kuang (Emily), Yee Fun, Yee Guan and Yee Siung.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that donations be made in memoriam of Siew Ging Sim at St. Micheal's Hopsital where she received great care during her illness and in the last days of her life.
