I remembered my aunt as a loving and caring person to me. When I was little I would go over to her house in Hong Kong and she would give me lots of snacks.

When we all moved to Canada she kept in touch with us and invited us to Joe’s place all the time. Family was important to her.

She told me she was always worried about her kids and I would tell her she was a great mother so there was nothing to worry about because her kids were so successful.

She loved to shop and travel! When I was dating my husband we would meet up in HK and share our stories. She bought me a dinner set from Korea which I am still using today. Little did she know how popular Korea has become and this dinner set is now a priceless collectors’ item which I will cherish forever.

She lived down the street from me at Steeles and Don Mills and she told me although the apartment was small she was happy as long as her kids were happy.

Being a mother myself, she will be proud of her kids and leave in peace. I hope she is happy where she is now and can finally rest.

Good-bye my beloved Aunt, my Amy 舅母. I will always remember her as my Amy舅母 because I went to U of T with my dear cousin Amy. I still remembered the days when I used to follow Amy every time from her residence and went home on the weekends to see her mom. 舅母 would always welcome me and have all her good foods and soup ready for us. I would watch her asking Amy all the questions while she tried to clean up her bags and stuff. I just sat there and laughed at their conversation but they had such a loving relationship.

舅母 never got mad at anything and loved all her kids dearly. I always admired her caring and selfless nature. Her kindness was contagious and her memory will live on forever. A mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, then forever in our memory. Rest in peace舅母.
