In memory of

Shirley Tinmouth (nee Richards)

November 18, 1954 -  February 8, 2024

Surrounded by loved ones, Shirley Tinmouth (nee Richards) passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 8, 2024, at the age of 69. Beloved wife to Ted; and cherished mother to Allison, her husband Brad Henderson, their kids Charlotte & Adelyn; her son Brad, his wife Stephanie Marentette, and their baby due summer 2024. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Norman and Louise Richards.

A retired teacher in the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Shirley (Nana) enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and granddogs, as well as spending summers in Nova Scotia. Creative at her core, she had countless interests that connected her with strong friend groups, knitting, cooking, art, fitness, the outdoors and games like Scrabble and Rummikub. These circles of support carried her through the recent years.

A Visitation will be held at York Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Rd, North York), on February 15, 2024, from 2:00 til 4:00pm and 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, directed to the Leukemia Research Fund or Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Ted, Allison, Brad, Brad, Stephanie, Charlotte and Adelyn:
Our hearts are broken with the news of Shirley’s passing. She was so impactful in our lives and the lives of our children and will be so missed! She always took the time to connect, teach and share in the most loving way. We are so grateful and blessed to have known her. We will miss hearing Shirley’s stories about her Nova Scotia trips with Ted, her neighbourhood walks with Tulip and about Charlotte and Adelyn, who she talked about the most and who she absolutely adored! Heaven has gained an amazing angel.
All our love, Jennifer, Kevin, Justine and Nicole

I hope the memory of Shirley’s love and wisdom sustains your extended family and brings you comfort. It has been a privilege to know such a generous, warm and loving person. The unexpected wry sense of humour was the icing on the cake. I will remember her in so many ways and places but never more than playing Scrabble. She was a fun and formidable opponent 🥰
